The Art of Being

The Universal Experience
17 (morning) – 19 September, 2010

We can be devastated by the loss of friends, lovers and partners, whether through death or parting. The loss of possessions, career and security can overwhelm our sense of well-being. Even in the good times we often live with a quiet undercurrent of concern about the future. At the root of all this is our fear of life’s greatest let-go, our own death. Every goodbye that hurts, every let-go that we can’t accept, shows us this fear. And yet death can teach us how to live happily!

The Universal Experience guides you into a profound encounter with your own death. It is a journey through which you discover the freedom that becomes yours when you learn how to say goodbye and how to embrace death’s mysteries. This beautiful and deeply moving exploration enables you to recognize the real meaning of your relationships with the people close to you, and of your connection with everything in life.

The core of the experience is letting go, as a way of releasing fear and expanding freedom. This includes letting go of old fears, hurts and struggles, and letting go into the here-and-now flow of your life so that you can live with more lightness, more playfulness, more wisdom, more compassion and more aliveness!

The Universal Experience will almost certainly transform your relationship with death. Its greatest blessing, however, is the effect it is likely to have on the way you live your daily life

Beginning: Friday, 17 September, 10.30 a.m.
End: Sunday, 19 September, 5 p.m.

Touch and Presence
with Alan Lowen and Nirvano M. Schulz
26 – 30 September, 2010

In all kinds of healing practices that involve body contact, sexual energy can be awakened in the one giving or receiving. Touch communicates! If the giver is at home and easy with their own sexuality, the client feels safe to relax with the natural flow of their energies and feelings. If, however, the giver has unresolved issues, their hands may convey insecurity and unease. What should be relaxed and nourishing may become subtly stressed with an anxious tangle of fears, desire, shame and guilt. To look after this requires not just correct behaviour, but the full presence of the giver.

Our greatest healing force is our presence. In body-work it gives uniquely nurturing qualities and is also a replenishing source of energy for the giver. Whether we are professional body-workers or simply people enjoying fully our personal lives and relationships, our presence nourishes, heals and awakens.

To be and live in our whole presence is a home-coming. It is where we belong, and the way there is always our own healing journey. To restore this precious state, we have to make friends with whatever we mistrust, reject or deny in ourselves. This is all that keeps us from our full presence.

If you offer body-work or massage, or if you simply love to explore through touch, one of the most powerful and appealing ways into your full presence is through reconciling with your male-female nature and directly engaging with your sexuality. This workshop makes this journey available. Guided by Alan and Nirvano, your sensual and sexual nature becomes a path of awakening into full presence. Old, self-sabotaging conditioning gives way to conscious, loving trust in your whole feeling-sensing being.

The workshop is for professionals working with body-contact and for those who love to touch and be touched. The gifts that the workshop offers apply not only in the professional practice. Opening to all the gifts that come with enhanced sensitivity through touch and awareness, a new intimacy develops within yourself and in all your relations with others.

The workshop also addresses important practical aspects: setting boundaries, developing communication skills and holding a safe, relaxed space during the massage exchange. Hawaiian and intuitive massage techniques and breathwork, and a rich repertoire of guided meditations, dance and trance-work are all part of this journey into the greater mystery that touch can be.
